About Us: I Believe In Dog

I Believe In Dog LLC (IBID)

we specialize in in-home dog boarding, day adventure trips, and day-camp services. Our focus is on providing appropriate, low-impact care and socialization for dogs, particularly those who are dog-reactive or dog-aggressive. We work to foster neutrality, trust, and comfort in a safe and structured environment where every dog can thrive.

Our program is ideal for canines that need regular time in nature, away from the stress of urban triggers. Whether it's running, sniffing, digging, rolling, splashing, or simply enjoying a peaceful outdoor adventure, we offer the perfect outlet. Dogs in our care have the opportunity to interact with our personal dog, Felony, a rehabilitated, formerly-reactive dog who serves as the demo dog for all types of client dogs. Felony plays a central role in our program, showing that with time, patience, and proper management, even the most complex dogs can coexist and form meaningful connections.

Our Philosophy

Our core philosophy is built around Least Intrusive Minimally Aversive (LIMA) dog handling and training principles. We believe in treating every dog as an individual and using positive methods to manage behavior, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and respected at all times.

Dog Reactivity and Aggression

For dogs that struggle with reactivity or aggression, our program creates structured introductions and integrates behavioral dogs carefully into the home environment. We use crates, tethers, x-pens, baby gates, and closed doors to manage interactions and ensure every dog is introduced thoughtfully and safely.

Small Groups & Structured Adventures

Adventure groups never exceed 4 dogs at a time. Most groups are a combination of my dog, Felony, and one or two carefully-selected client dogs. By curating each group based on energy levels, temperament, and behavior, we ensure that all dogs are compatible, and that potential conflicts are managed effectively through tools like long leashes, slip leads, and muzzles when necessary.

Meet Felony: The Heart of IBID

Felony is more than just my personal dog; she is the inspiration behind I Believe In Dog LLC. I adopted her as a complex and highly-reactive dog when I was just 19 years old. Her strength, tenacity, and wild nature challenged me in ways I had never expected, but over time, we forged an extraordinary partnership built on trust and respect.

Felony’s transformation from a dog who struggled to coexist with others into a calm, well-trained demo dog is at the core of our program. She is living proof of what can be accomplished with the right guidance and management. Felony now helps other dogs find their own sense of peace and balance, offering both a model of what’s possible and a comforting companion for dogs in need.
